About the Church

St Hilda's is a friendly church serving the community of Island Bay. We do the usual churchy things like services and Communion, but we also serve in practical ways such as Ezee meals for shut ins and for folk who want a good, nutritious, inexpensive, home style meal for a fair price. We also run holiday programmes for kids, a Wednesday drop in for older folks and services for those in local rest homes.

You can hire our hall, get married, get yourself or your children baptised (Christened), or you can get help if you have problems. Various groups already use the church for their activities, including a Baby Sensory class, a playgroup every Tuesday from 9.30 - 11.30, Pippins, Brownies and ICONZ (junior Boys Brigade).

For people who want to know what this Jesus thing is all about, we run the Alpha course every so often. For people who are finding out more, we have home groups, and programmes for children and youth.
